Re: Domain name
A Dutch LV-user owns the registration of librivox.eu . But I think it could lead to legal problems if we use that name. I really like the domain legamus.eu However, I suggest we change the subtitle; I wrote about that earlier: "about the subtitle of legamus.eu: "Let's read together" d...

OK!neckertb wrote:I think the 5 s rule has been in use for a long time, and thus no error reports come about that, but I've had some PLers thinking they got a truncated file because the 5 s were missing. I'd keep that.

Re: Templates, tech specs and so on
particularly in the cheap audio players (no offense meant, I also had one of those ;) ) No offence taken, I'm actually proud when I found something that is cheap and nevertheless works well  (which is the case with this little apparatus - no major problems besides this name thingy and it uses ...

Re: Templates, tech specs and so on
Surely quite a technical-looking solution (as you might by now expect from me ;) ), but it should work: 8.3 players should read ZTWO01~1.MP3, ZTWO02~1.MP3 and work as expected. And one can always put several files into the same directory. Er ... yes! (re. the bold); you must be at least a...

Re: Discussion of set-up/future legamus.eu
As some of you (Leni at least :)) may have read at LV, I'm very busy for the coming month, and away on holiday the first half of July. My husband and I will move to a different city before the end of June (very sudden decision), that's why I cannot add so much more to the work of setting up this sit...

Re: Templates, tech specs and so on
I think it's a great idea to have them starting at 1 and to get the BC/reader to provide keywords (that's really a pain otherwise). As for the sections starting with numbers if we remove the underscore: 01heidi_spyri then they should sort by book. I just don't find the LV way very intuitive, but I ...

Re: File hosting, distribution and storage
As for the size of the MP3's: I think that if we stick to mono-speech like on LV, it is not necessary to go any higher than 128 kbps. Someone over there did a little check: re-encoding MP3's several times, and found that at least 5 or 6x at 128 kbps was necessary to get a noticable decrease in quali...

Re: Sponsored server?
Yes, Viktor, that would be excellent! It would give us a more stable and predicable situation with regard to file storage and data transfer, and no annoying adds.

Re: Discussion of set-up/future legamus.eu
Regarding the LV part - this is English only at the moment, I would like to make some suggestions: I'd really like to have subforums for other languages, not for the actual work but for information, suggestions, questions, ... When we look at LV, English is the strongest language, followed by Frenc...

Re: Discussion of set-up/future legamus.eu
Re. the BC=PL thing: please bear in mind that there are PL'ers that don't (want or can) do anything else. At LV we have a very faithful PL'er listening to hours and hours of Dutch recordings; she doesn't record herself nor would she wish to be involved in all the tech stuff around. I think we should...

Discussion of set-up/future legamus.eu
The title says it all ... Let's continue the discussion we had elsewhere :) Viktor, you have already gained a lot of experience for the German language part. We should expand (technically, legally, socially) to include more +70 countries and their respective languages. Would it be a good idea to set...
