To prospective DPLs - standard PL is absolutely fine.

I've chosen a short project for my first Legamus solo. I'm hoping to have it ready for Armistice Day, but if not, well, it'll be ready in good time for next year.

Hello Erin,

I am your MC for this project. Technically we do things the same way as on LV. Big difference: Please add the ID3 tags to your recordings. And even bigger difference: All things are very slow ... please bear with us.

Will PM you the password for the Uploader and the MW shortly.

The gardener and the burden is PL OK :D

I spotted nothing offensive in it.

Three questions:
Maybe we should spell the title The Gardener and The Burden to indicate that there are two text joined in the recording?

When you choose CC BY, you can ask that you are credited if you want. I like it very much that here at Legamus soloists can choose another CC licence, but I never understood, why Legamus should be credited and not the reader.

I've found two pictures that could work as a cover. I am not sure if I understood what Kipling is doing here, so they might not fit at all.
Anyway, you as the soloist have the last say about the cover and if you don't like it or think it does not fit, please say so.

And I move us to Readers Found.

Wow! Thank you very much!

Good idea about the title - please do change it to The Gardener and The Burden.

Thank you for asking, but I think I'm okay not recording a credit for myself to add to the file. I know some cover designers put the reader's name on the cover, and that can be a nice touch. As far as recording goes, I think it feels a bit odd to blow my own trumpet, and on LV I usually leave my name out of it. I record most of what I record to publicise overlooked books, and I'd rather the listener be focused on the story than on me. I'll think about it for the next time, but for this one I'm fine without a voice credit.

Those images are perfect! Either one - whichever inspires you. The first has the black crosses that fit the line in the story. The second one also fits the image in the story of the sea of graves, and (purely subjectively!) as a Brit abroad it's the image I have of continental Allied war cemeteries. You've picked great images, so work with whichever one, as the spirit moves you.

I don't think that was ever on purpose - nobody thought that Legamus should be credited instead of the reader. Probably the text was just the initial suggestion, and everybody so far was happy to copy an existing disclaimer without modifying it.

I completely agree that for solo projects, the reader should be credited instead of Legamus if s/he wishes so.

My pleasure, Erin. I happen to be interested in Kipling and I like to make covers.

Viktor, I took the liberty to change the suggested wordings for the disclaimer from Legamus to the reader/Legamus.

It has very politely been brought to my attention that I did this under a more restrictive license. That was my mistake - I would like for it to be CC0, both here and (prospectively and eventually) on Librivox. To make it official, I hereby release this recording under a CC0 license.
