COMPLETE [ENG] St Francis of Assisi by GK Chesterton - hok

Post by MattyG »

St. Francis of Assisi by G.K. Chesterton (1874-1936)

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page:
http://legamus.eu/blog/?p=368

In this brief but lively biography, GK Chesterton brings all his typical wit and insight into discussing Francis of Assisi. Francis is arguably the most significant canonised Christian outside of the New Testament. His passionate life included so many elements of the Christian walk: a deep appreciation for evangelism, social justice, the environment, mysticism, pacifism. Chesterton reveals all of these elements, for all their vibrancy and beauty in Francis. ( Summary by Matthew James Gray)

Julie saw that I submitted this to librivox, but they were unable to do it because of the Mickey Mouse Protection Act.

Hi Matthew and welcome to Legamus! :)

I'm your MC for this project.

Basically we do things the same way as on LibriVox, but it's a bit more handwork involved. We have no Magic window but we can create a google.doc with all links and files. This way the DPL can mark the sections PL OK themselves. But as Google is not loved by everyone, we can also have a list in the first post, but this can only be edited by you and your MC.
What do you prefer?

It seems MattyG hasn't been here for more than one month. I will delete this thread if nothing happens until Sunday.

Apologies all. I had a few months without my laptop (flipping Lenovo! :( ). And then I thought it had been ditched, so started another thread.

I'll get on this later this week.

Do you prefer a list of chapters in the first post or a google doc as Magic Window replacement?

MW up and running, I hope. Google added some new and shiny things since I last used it. Why can't they keep thinks just functional?

The drop box link works for me. If it works for Julia too it's fine to use it. But it may give you more traffic than you wanted.

I move us to Readers Found.

Victor's given me the upload code, so I'll do that tomorrow.

I got your Google Drive spreadsheet. So what I've done in the past with LV projects, is notify the PL here with the link, but also posted it up on the Magic Window. Is that the same deal here?

Okay, so I've been much more responsible, and here's the link for the official legamus uploaded version (which is exactly the same as the other one...):

I've also updated the MW.

Thanks Julia, that's very nice to hear.

I had a few problems with a poor earth "hum" on my recordings, which is why I took so long to get the next chapter up. But now that's fixed, I reckon I should be able to do quite a few chapters rather quickly.

Here's Chapter 2:

I've also updated the Google doc.
