Re: Solo[ENGLISH]The House Without a Key by Earl Derr Bigger
I'm also back; PL'ed the first 6 chapters during my holiday. A nice read (listen) :) Please wait with uploading the files with new disclaimers until I get around posting my PL-remarks over here - I expect to be able to do so in the coming few days. I had something for each chapter if I recall ...

No prob & good luck! We still have all packing to do, but hey ... we'll leave on Monday! (and I was very happy, BTW, that the cheap, 2nd hand Lonely Planet guide that I ordered on Amazon UK last week arrived júst in time, today at the office)

Have a very nice holiday (and Nadine, hopefully it's not so hot anymore in your lab ...) I'll get back with PL-results of the 1st six chapters (and perhaps even seven, depending on what you'll do tonight
) by mid of July.

Re: Solo[ENGLISH]The House Without a Key by Earl Derr Bigger
I logged in at work, just to let you know I'm still alive ;) We moved to our new appartment last Tuesday, all went well, but we are still having some troubles getting the internet connection working. Hopefully this evening or tomorrow it will be fixed ...

Re: How to catalogue
1. telling the volume in db can be difficult
I actually don't know how to tell the absolute volume from Audacity relative dB-level. Could anyone tell me that? The loudest parts in my recordings are (after compression, no normalisation) at appr. 0.6 in Audacity; that seems to be OK for Librivox ...

Re: Disclaimer
On first glance the disclaimers in Ruthie's post look fine, although I think we should not put every one up in the standard text (too much choices). We could put up the CC0 ( Public Domain) and CC BY-NC-SA (Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike), and refer legamateers (;)) by a link to the rest in ...

Re: How to catalogue
Do we have a common login/password for this? Or should I create my own account?
I think you need to register with Wordpress (if not already done previously) and then HP can assign you as co-author of the blog. HP, I'ld like to be in too (my Wordpress name is also 'kattekliek') :)

Re: How to catalogue
The blog is up http://legamus.wordpress.com/
This can all be deleted and made undone.
Wordpress is not as flexible as I would like. There are some minor un-nice things, I will try to get rid off. For example the "Just another WordPress.com site" line. Haven't found all buttons yet. Still need to ...

Re: Disclaimer
1. When people hear it, it is already to late. They already have violated the law.
They can then always decide to stop listening and delete the recording.
2. it is long-winded and inelegant. This is what I dislike about it ... but I think it is needed to be clear anyway. We could say in the ...

Re: How to catalogue
5. We don't have a catalog yet. Viktor wants to build all the comfortable tools we have on LV (Hurray!!!) But until then I think we need something quick and easy, like a blog. Is some one in blogs? For the only thing I know is wordpress.
I have done some scribbling how it could possibly look. http ...

Re: Disclaimer
With regard to Ruth's suggested disclaimer, I find it interesting that the Librivox disclaimer contains no warning that an audiobook may not be in the public domain in a country outside the US. After all, if, in Australia, I listened to a Librivox recording of a Robert Frost poem (none of which ...

Re: Disclaimer
That said, I will go with the flow on Legamus. But I am concerned about The Prophet, which I believe needs more protection than the usual, because of its immense popularity in the US.

Re: Solo[ENGLISH]The House Without a Key by Earl Derr Bigger
I would like to be DPL! I need to read along with texts in English to make sure there are no mistakes in the reading. So that's why I hesitated ... But my husband bought me an ebook reader 8-) and it's perfect for taking the text and MP3's on holiday (beginning of July). Would be great if you can ...

Re: Disclaimer
I see the possibility to choose a license as a way to make readers more comfortable. Like at LV or mission is to make free audiobooks from pd text. Does it hinder our mission if some of the audiobooks don't allow commercial use or even derivation works, if they still are free to download, to listen ...
