[SOLO] The Ancient Highway: A Novel of High Hearts - crow

Post by fiddlesticks »

The Ancient Highway: A Novel of High Hearts and Open Woods. by James Oliver Curwood 1878- †1927
This truly is a tale of high hearts and open woods, full of colourful characters, adventure, romance, a despicable villain and a charming hero and heroine. The supporting cast are just as engaging, and help pull the story along in delightful and intriguing ways.

Clifton Brant has been through much in the Great War, but now that it's over, he must decide what to do with himself next. Returning to his small home town along the St. Lawrence River, Quebec, he soon has a run in with an old enemy, Ivan Hurd, and makes a new friend, Gaspard. Gaspard's family own a logging company which is facing ruin if the unpleasant Hurd has his way. Clifton falls instantly and madly in love with Gaspard's lovely sister Antoinette, although she appears to disdain his affection, and is determined to help save their company.

Excitement dogs Clifton’s footsteps in the logging camps of the vast northern forests as Gaspard fights a ‘duel’ for his love, storms cause havoc, and a drastic turn of events seems to doom their last chance to defeat Hurd's nefarious plans.

Hi fiddlestick! Welcome to Legamus!
I am your MC for this project, your MW is up and running! PW via PM soon. You can start filling out the titles, add or delete sections. Just like you want.

Now we only need a PL or DPL for your project. Do you have someone in mind?
Otherwise you might post a request at "Listeners Wanted".

Happy readings!

Thank you!
I will post in listeners wanted for a proof listener.
Should I shorten the url to theancienthighway._##_curwood.mp3 I know they do that on LV sometimes, just not sure about the particular reason.

Yeah, shortening the filename would be better.
The main reason might be, that short filenames are better readable for human eyes.
Another might be, that simple mp3-player, stand-alone devices, might cause problems otherwise.
I just guess. 8-)
I can do some pl-ing temporarily as long as we don't have a DPL, but as I am no native English speaker, pl-ing might take more time. But you can start recording as soon as you want.
Cheers!

Ok, I'll shorten the file name :)
Thank you! I have I have a few chapters to edit and some roles to record for a dramatic reading on LV, so I will do those and see if a DPL comes along in the mean time, if not I will go ahead and record when those are done!

I have a raspy voice from a cold, so I am not sure when I will be able to keep recording, but hopefully soon!

It started as a cold picked up from my family, then yesterday I started thinking I had picked up the flu that is going around my church, today I know I have it

You get well too! It is not any fun being sick :(
I don't even have any pling to catch up on  which is what I usually do when I'm sick!

Section 01 ready for pl!

My nose is still a little stuffy, but I wanted to get going on this, hopefully I didn't sound to bad, because of that I think I enunciated more clearly that I usually do!
