Read OK, except I don't know what the title of the piece is supposed to be. Is it "Infernal Parliament" as you've written in your post or is it "Infernal Punishment" as you read it in the intro?

Sorry for the delay in PLing. Reading-wise and format-wise (intro and outro) all's OK. There's one thing though which I can't understand. When listening to "Clovis on the Alleged Romance of Business" on headphones I can only hear it through one channel. Can anyone listen to it and say what they hear?

Thank you both so much for your help and patience! I am sorry it has taken so long and been so stop-start, life kept throwing new distractions at me. I hope my next project here will not be as staccato ;)

In a week or two I'll think about looking around for a new project, either here or on Librivox.

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://legamus.eu/blog/?p=482

Tim, could you give me 2 or 3 key words/tags for the catalog, please. The project is already categorized English fiction short story. If more then only the first is about WW1, we could add that as a tag.

If there is still a question on where to get hold of the written text, here's a link: The Square Egg, and Other Sketches (1929).

Yes "WW1" would be suitable, as some of the stories reflect that time and at least a few are set on the front, so maybe "Somme, Battle" also and "satire".

BUT the edition linked to just above by Scout has more stories and introductory material. Can we add to this now that it is listed, or after i read the additional material replace it, or what?

The missing material is I think:
Introduction by J.C. Squire, p. xi - PDF
Biography of Saki, pp. 3-103 - PDF
...
The Death-Trap, pp. 142-149 - PDF
Karl-Ludwig's Window, pp. 150-160 - PDF
The Watched Pot, pp. 161-276 - PDF

The stories at the end are no problem I can finish them quickly, but the 100 pages of biography will take a while.... except those "stories" are plays! And one is 100 pages also :(

If J.C. Squire is Sir John Collings Squire, better don't read anything from him, he only died in 1958. The "Biography of Saki" is by Saki himself? Then that's of course possible.

Phew! That gave me a brief scare. looking around there seem to be editions that separate the stories from the plays, so I assume what we have is OK as it is?
