Yeah, it has occured to me too that reading non-fiction is probably easier for me, as the language and structure is more straightforward. Unless we're talking about Lovecraft; apparently he felt compelled to use long-winded sentences and polysyllabic words in whatever he was writing, fiction or non-fiction
