The book is on Archive.org https://archive.org/details/storytellersstor028926mbp
(First published in 1924 it should probably not be there)
It contains several autobiographic stories about poor childhood in some rural part of the US. The language is very beautiful, the storytelling very slow and special. This is a book that wants to be read aloud.
It played a tiny but very dramatic role in a quite spectacular German TV show (Tatort: Im Schmerz geboren). The book has nothing to do with the TV plot, but it made me curious what this book might be about.
